Henri Lamy
French painter born in 1985 in Lyon, Henri Lamy surprises the viewer through the spontanaity of his work. Lamy started painting at an early age after developing a fascination for facial expressions and people who were considered as not fitting in society. His work is characterized by heavy usage of lively colors and highly creative composition, as well as inventive usage of the palette knife. Henri controls the techniques and is guided by his emotions. Influenced by Yan Pei Ming and Lucian Freud, Henri Lamy uses the "Dripping" technique to which he made his own refined innovation. From abstract to figurative, there is a space that Henri invests with great subtlety.
The artist had his first exhibition in France in 2006 and then traveled regularly to Asia. His exhibitions in renowned galleries helped him earn the recognition of the art world. Very popular on the Asian market, Henri Lamy used these influences to inform a multicultural practice. After his participation in the Japan Exhibition in Yokohama, the artist had exhibitions in Nanjing, Beijing, Tokyo, New York, Hong Kong, Singapore, Manila and Bangkok.
