About the Artist

Susan Gott

"My work embodies an interest in mythological imagery and philosophies from historic and ancient cultures. I am intensely interested in ancient civilizations, symbols of ritual art, ancient myths and how they connect us, most deeply, with our own nature and our place in this world."

Susan Gott is a sculptor and educator specializing in the cast glass method, in which molten glass is poured into a mold, and has also created large-scale multimedia public art works using elements of cast glass bas-relief panels, steel, and stone. She earned a master's degree in glass from Kent State University, Ohio, and a bachelor's degree from Radford University, Virginia. Gott's work can be found in the permanent collections of the Alexander Brest Museum, Jacksonville, Florida; the Cafesjian Museum of Art, Yerevan, Armenia; The Museum of Fine arts, St. Petersburg, Florida; and the Polk Museum of Fine Art, Lakeland Florida.
