Paloma Hinojosa was born in Madrid, Spain in 1947. Although painting has always been a very important part of her life, she received a formal education in business and attended the Escuela de Artes y Oficios (School of Art and Trade). After finishing her studies, she went to work for IBM but shortly after followed her passion and became a full time career painter. Since 1971, Hinojosa has participated in numerous individual and group shows throughout Spain, France and the United States. Like many other New Fauves, Hinojosa uses color to express her thoughts and emotions. She defines her work as spontaneous and strongly influenced by music. The atmosphere that she creates on canvas is romantic, lyrical, mystical and beautiful. She is currently working on an important exhibit which will be held in Madrid.
